My Big Project

I am getting married in August and am making most of my decorations, programs, guest book and my bridesmaids' gifts.  Tonight I'm working on mini albums to keep track of special dates, birthdays and anniversaries to give to my three bridesmaids.  The foundation of the book is the same as my Christmas Album, designed by my friend, Jessica, at The Unrepentant Craft Addict.  Each page will be one month.  I have chosen paper and embelishments that reflect the month's holiday or season.  I'm having a lot of fun working on them and have a couple if sneak peaks!

My sneak peaks, of course, are not finished and do not have all of my embelishments.  I'm very excited to be making these and am having a lot of fun!!!

Christmas Mini Album Workshop 2013

I know I have only blogged two other times but I have completed many projects since starting this blog.  I am going to attempt to play some catch up as well as blog more frequently.  I just finished another owl hat for a friend who is having her first child soon and I am currently working on programs for my upcoming wedding, a guestbook and will begin working on a fun project for my bridesmaids.

I did take a break this weekend from my projects to get together with my crafting group for our second annual Christmas Mini Album Workshop put on by my dear friend, Jessica from The Unrepentant Craft Addict (Please visit her blog!!  You will not be disappointed!!!).  Jessica is an amazingly talented crafter and such an inspirational woman!  She created this album and shared the directions with us so we could create our own!

The paper we used was from the StampinUp Christmas collection.  We also used the Christmas Tags embellishment kit, StampinUp washi tape, StampinUp cardstock and various different StampinUp embossing dies and dye cuts, along with various different punches.

I hope you enjoy looking through the pages!!

Cover:  made from chipboard and covered with designer series paper.

A view from the side.  You can see all of the different textures.

Inside cover and first page.

The first page is a pocket that holds a photo mat album and has a journaling card.

Page two and three.

This is the photo mat album we created to fit in the pocket on the second page.

The third page has a pocket that holds journaling tags, a photo mat and mini album made from a paper treat bag.  There are journaling tags that pull out from the sides.

Pages four and five.

Page four holds a tag with blank space on the back for journaling, another journaling card and room to add photo mats if needed and wanted.

Page five has fun little flip pages for smaller photos or journaling.  It also makes a pocket on the side with page six that holds a tag with journaling room and is big enough for a photo on the back.

Pages six and seven.

Page six has an accordion matted photo place held shut by a magnet and washi tape.  There is a blank spot for a photo or journaling.

Page seven has two pockets.  They hold journaling tags and photo mats.

Pages eight and nine.

Page eight is made with a coffee sleeve covered with designer series paper.  It has a photo mat album.

Page nine is a pocket that holds another photo mat album.  It too has a pocket on the side mad with page 10 (just like the one on page five.)

Page ten and the back cover.

Page ten is another accordion photo mat.  This holds 4x6 photos and has blank pages for more journaling.

Attached to the back cover is an antelope made with a Tim Holtz die cut.  This holds a photo mat held together with a brad for wallet size photos.

The back cover.

I hope you enjoyed looking through the pages of this mini album!  Jessica will be posting the directions and supply list on her blog at The Unrepentant Craft Addict.

Fall Crafting

I thought I would try something new for a fun afternoon craft. I stopped by Michael's with two coupons in hand and a mission to complete! I of course found way too many fun things. So on a budget this is what I came up with. I hope you like it!!

A new found love

A month ago I had the wonderful opportunity of attending a craft club with two friends and a group of fun, nice gals.  I was told we would be making a card with Stampin Up! products.  It had been quite some time since I had done some crafting and I wasn't really sure what to expect but knew I wanted to try it!  I absolutely LOVED it!  It was a nice reminder of what a stress reliever crafting is for me!  We made a beautiful card and had a ton of fun while doing it!
